Hervé Loilier was born in Paris in 1948. In 1965, he starts working at the Jullian Academy, then gets into polytechnic school in 1967 where he worked for Pierre Jerome and Lucien Fontanarosa. In 1970, he earns his degree from polytechnic school and gets into his third year at the National School of Decorative Arts. Loilier transforms what he sees and feels towards a subject. He is one of those painters who researches the spirit of his subject, the soul of a landscape or a particular situation. One can say that his Art resembles him, equally private and warm, discreet yet communicative. In Loilier’s work, one can recognize an aura of mystery , an almost mystical unreality that the viewer is sucked into for his greatest aesthetic pleasure. Half way between mythology and history, Loilier recaptures situations that hold meaning beyond the image. That’s his own particular way of mastering his Art.
Hervé Loilier is in permanent exhibition in Paris, place des Vosges.
