Serge Van Khache was born in 1946 in Angouleme from a French mother and an Asian father. He studied drawing and painting at the Beaux Arts school in Angouleme and, at the same time, learned photography with his father. He then settled in Paris as a photographer and illustrator. He worked for magazines such as Lui, Playboy and Vogue among others and in the film industry with movies from André Cayette, Agnés Varda or Roger Hanin… From 1984 on, he decides to devote himself exclusively to painting. He places his work in the movement of visionary painters. His «glazed technique » is reminiscent of the Flemish Masters. His Asian origins give his workmanship the rigour and meticulousness which characterize his paintings.
He believes inspiration must seek, through pictural description, the paths and sources of our unconscious emotions. In 1998, he signs an exclusivity contract with Gallery Mickael Marciano.
In permanent exhibit in Paris, place des Vosges, and at La Baule.
